With the oil service industry facing a real depression next year, you only want to be in an OS mutual fund or the strongest individual players. There is enough risk playing the sector at all without having to worry whether excessively leveraged drillers will survive.

<< FLC under 7? will it ever end? >> It looks to have turned...

FLC has found support - RIG & RON showing some strong buyers...

...today could be verrrry interesting. Just when we least expect it - it will happen for the 3rd time...

January WILL see a nice pop; the only question is will the traders be chomping at the bit & will they want to beat the fundies to the party ??? $2 swings in RIG & RON...over the last day or so. I'm seeing some very interesting action. Shorts may just cover here at a perceived bottom - wanting to not get squeezed by the tax loss sellers returning.... could be seeing a lot of short covering just starting here. A good move imho - shorts are prudent to cover here - right now.

This is the 3rd bite at the Oilpatch Apple.

It looks to me like FLC is being shorted right into the ground; the trading pattern reminds me of what I've seen in previously in VRC. I'm almost tempted to piggy-back on the shorts; it's a nice %age gain for them. But I would have to play it for huge volumes to make it worthwhile, and I'm not that confident.

Of course, I could be wrong about the shorting, but the volume and movement suggests some organized behavior, not just funds dumping.
