It is scary. It emphasizes to me the growth of the information/technology economy. There was an interesting financial times article last week on the 10 year shift in top market capitalizations from industrials and large Japanese banks to companies like Capt. Winky's (M$FT), Intel, and others. One of the best points made was on the ratio of market cap to brick and mortar assets. As you can imagine....a company like MSFT has few assets (mostly cash) relative to their capitalization.
