51MB Gangsters Demo Now at Avault!

avault.com

Do you possess the backbone to be a wise guy? Think you have what it
takes to be the mob boss of a brutal organized crime family? If so, the
strategy title Gangsters: Organized Crime, from Hot House Creations, is
an offer you cannot refuse. Set in a Chicago-style city of the 1930s, you
work in the gritty underworld of the Mafia, dealing in extortion, bootlegging,
prostitution, violence, intimidation, gambling, and gang warfare. If you have
ever watched one of the great, old black and white gangster movies, or the
masterful period pieces by filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, and wondered
what it would be like to play the lead role, this game is your chance.

Numbers make no sense. Indeed, it is helpful to consider the worldwide sales. In Germany alone Eidos is THE NR. 1 HIT in christmas sales. My guess is that they will sell close to 1 mio copies.
I understand Germany is market nr. 2 for computer games. Ratio playstation : pc has changed to more or less 45:55.
I am sure that EIDSY is still a good buy because they have a great potential. Let's wait until their new figures are out.

I have no need to write a rebuttal, as I'm not making any arguments. The numbers I posted come from the PC Data November report. The numbers represent about 80% of units sold retail in the US, as I believe I mentioned. I'd post console numbers if I had them. I'd post worldwide numbers if I had them. I don't. I'm sharing the information that I _do_ have, which can give some insight into one (large) segment of the industry.

I know that both Half Life and Tomb Raider 3 were released late in the month (TR 3 on the 11/23, Half Life on the 19th), so they both got a week and a half of sales (Half Life got an extra weekend over TR3). If this is an indication of how the two will sell longer term, they should be doing very nicely in December!

IGN gives a good review to Gangsters (http://pc.ign.com/reviews.html) and Theif, rating both higher than TR3.
