Kash, <PS. Did anyone verify if the new K6-2 core is really a K6-3 with cache disabled as was rumoured a few weeks back.> It is likely that the K6-2 with CXT core is 1. Less than 80mm^2 die size 2. Contains all the cache access, memory access and integer core improvements of the K6-3, but without the internal L2 cache. Anand remarked that the K6-3 was 1mm thicker than the K6-2 (CXT or non-CXT core). This implies a packaging change which probably means the die is different. Also, CXT core K6-2-300's have shown up. It would be extremely foolish for AMD to make 300 MHz K6-2's using a 117 mm^2 die size (K6-3 size from last conf. call). Petz
