Java in Jeopardy

Interesting article in the current issue of Forbes at forbes.com which discusses the problems SUNW is having trying to keep its grip on Java. As far as making money goes, the following excerpt seems to answer that question in the negative:

Sun, with annual sales in the $10 billion range, collects only about $180 million a year in fees and royalties from Java followers—less than it spends to promote the standard.

I'd still appreciate some comments from Mr. Gilder on how he sees Java becoming a money-maker for SUNW.
