Eisenhower lied directly and knowingly re Powers incident. But I, for one, would always want a president to lie to protect the life of an American at risk. My concept is that I don't think that Mr. Eisehower was a congenital liar like Bill.

Jimmy said he'd 'lusted in his heart,' to the dismay of several people. Understand, some people believe the mere thought of committing adultery is a sin.

here is the reason "some" people believe that:

Matthew 5:
27 "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.'
28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

I admired Jimmy Carter for admitting it. And I certainly admire him for the work he and his wife have done since. Are you sure all conservatives hated and ridiculed him?
