Had a friend who refused to turn on his furnace before December even if the weather got down into the teens. He got married and got over that real quick.

This morning I got an e-mail that announced in capital letters:
"TODAY I AM A MAN!"
It is CW's 18th birthday.
And I'm filled with so many emotions that I can't even write.
18

18-
I keep saying it to myself. But it doesn't compute. It's a day that I just never really believed would come. I thought they'd be mine forever.
I can conjure him up at his first birthday party- he had on green velvet bibshorts and a plaid shirt and he had a terrible cold. Oddly enough, he has a bad cold this birthday also. He wanted his cake for dinner and was not happy that we wouldn't let him have it. Which was silly. What was the big deal? All those things that never should have been big deals but seemed to be at the moment. So he would have had cake for dinner...so what...instead we said no and he got mad and stuck his fist in it.

I hereby vow that if tonight he wants to eat his cake for dinner, I'll let him. Only it's not a real cake-it's a turtle cheesecake that Dan made from scratch! With caramel and chocolate melted all over it.
He really shouldn't eat something that rich on an empty stomach--
Especially with a cold.
I think he should probably eat his dinner first, don't you?
