Ahhaha: re: <Hope that answers your questions.>> Yes, thank you...I own both ATHM and WCOM, WCOM as a core position. I've been in and out of ATHM on 1/2 of my position, due in part to volatility and in part to my "trading" itch. (Am currently concerned that if ATHM breaks below 65 it'll be testing the 50's...and this could happen indeed if the major Internets decide to go south! typical of this kind of market. IMHO!).

Other arenas of interest are satellite (TEGI comes to mind) and wireless...and I understand that COMS is/has acquired a company.

Thanks for your quick and comprehensive response.

FNS

You raise an issue I've been thinking about, and would really appreciate your input. As carriers implement WDM and other "more exotic technologies", it seems to me that one of the consequences will be an abundance of backbone and distribution capacity. Implementing WDM in a standard cable HFC plant, for instance, results in an exponential gain in fiber capacity, based on the amount of fiber already deployed.

My question is, do you believe this surging capacity will negatively effect carriers like WCOW and QWEST? Or do you believe that new applications will create enough demand to utilize all this capacity. My sense is that at least in the 3 to 7 year time frame, the former proposition is more likely, but that's just a gut feel. Appreciate your thoughts.
