Michelle,

Here's a link to the story you're discussing.

An interesting little personal anecdote. I went over to my aunt's the other day for dinner. She and her husband and their baby are like the typical, apolitical Yuppie couple. She's a doctor, he's a hospital administrator. They vote, but mostly it's mostly driven by local issues like property taxes or crime. I don't think either of them are enrolled in either party. Anyway, she had been watching and listening to the impeachment hearings. And I mentioned to her that whenever a black Democratic Congresswoman would start speaking, the Republicans would start milling around and Roy LaHood had to call them to order. She suddenly turned toward me, stuck out her finger, and with a rage I'd never heard in her voice (at least regarding anything political or social) said, "It wasn't just with the black Congresswomen. It was with every woman." Then she went on a tantrum about the Republicans and how much this thing had turned her off to them. Another potential Republican alienated.
