More: 3Com wins deal to supply HP computers with network cards SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec 22 (Reuters) - 3Com Corp <COMS.O> said Tuesday it beat out Intel Corp <INTC.O> in an agreement to supply network interface cards across Hewlett-Packard Co.'s <HWP.N> entire line of personal computers. 3Com said it expects the agreement to significantly boost its volume of business with Hewlett-Packard, and its overall share of the market for network interface cards, which connect computers to the Internet. "We currently have 55 percent of that market share and we anticipate some really significant growth (from this deal)," a 3Com spokesman said. He said that last year 3Com did $50 million dollars of business with Hewlett-Packard. Although he forecast a big increase this year, he gave no specific estimates. He said the company had previously had agreements to supply the cards to certain PC product lines at HP but that the latest agreement significantly extends prior deals.
