Surfing on Heroin

The current mania regarding Internet related issues allows us to form an image. Images are just that, pictorial representations of what is happening, the story in a photograph (even if it is sepia tone and rather dog-eared).

The sun glinted off the fantastically high wave, even for New Zealand's winter waves. The small flotilla of Seadoos stood ready to take the surfers out onto the dangerous surf. Towing the surfers in and out was absolutely necessary (margin buying) because of the danger.
The wave was already occupied by several surfers, the bright colors of their wetsuits stood in stark contrast to the steely gray water mountain behind. The plumes of spray from the boards were white tails, raised in alarm.
It wasn't a question of when, it was a question of which.
Some surfers would ride the wave right out, some would not.
