"Ericsson has been conducting pioneering CDMA research for military applications and has been focusing on WCDMA
research and development for the past decade, leading to the company's excellent position to deliver these new mobile systems."

What does the word "focusing" mean? Normally it would mean one was giving it all one's attention. Or at least nearly all.

For the last decade? So they started in 1988. What palpable crap they talk.

Pioneering? It would be nice to see one single thing they have pioneered in CDMA in mobile. Has it been displayed anywhere? Any patent number to look at? Anything at all or just a midnight madness in the dark depths of the Arctic circle?

Yawn to the military applications. That has been around for decades. That's different from mobile. Or are they saying they have done something in mobile? Okay, so precisely what is it? Just secret ghosts hiding in the mists of Never Never Land.

How come they thought a mere 2 and a bit years ago that cdmaOne would fail under load, would be too expensive, would be too late to market, would work only with Bubblegum and Chicken Wire in an inadequate fashion [their consultant, Bill Frezza, claimed]?

Can they name one person who takes them seriously and could we have that person's name so we could ask them why they do?

Just amazing!

Anyway, they say they delivered the world's first experimental WCDMA system early in 1998. How come they took 10 years to get it going even as an experiment? Q! took only 5 years to get a system going in 1991 with nobody having done anything in mobile. Is L M Ericsson totally useless or what? To take 10 years from 1988 when Q! could do it in 5 years from 1986 seems pathetic!

I hope they go broke and the Ericy shareholders lose all their money for backing such freaks!

Then they say they are the leading provider in the "new telecoms world". What a struggling attempt to pretend they have any credibility left. Nokia is wiping the floor with them in GSM! Presumably they are not so stupid that they haven't figured that out yet, so they must be talking about something 'new'. Despite GSM being claimed to have such a lead that cdmaOne would be dead on arrival. So what is the new telecoms world? They are "the leading provider". They are pathetic. Oh well, sacking 20000 staff will cut them down to size. Nokia is cleaning their business out in GSM.

They are the "leading provider in the new telecoms world" but they don't have IPR to the necessary technology. That sounds dangerously close to a porky!

PS: "Pioneering" can't mean a take-off of cdmaOne so their 'trials' can't be counted unless we can see something special they have done in them different from Q! with patents to back them up.

What chip rate are they using in the 'trials'? Presumably the old 4.something chip rate. So those trials have to be junked now to go to the chip rate Q! suggests and Ericy agrees to [almost] although they don't need any Q! patents so why are they compromising again?
