A question in response to your question: If a person has little or nothing in common with the people of Arkansas, has little interest in the problems of the people of Arkansas, but remains in Arkansas because that's the place he can most easily build a political base, is he a carpet-bagger or not? Bottom line is that I think Bill is a seriously twisted individual. I really think he believes that he DIDN'T "have sexual relations" with Monica. Twisted as this is, it is unfortunately not grounds for impeachment, especially when you consider that his attitude towards sex was pretty well known in advance. Ascribing "middle American" morals to Bill because he happened to be born somewhere in middle America is fairly ridiculous, and another sign that our "geographically based" form of government is in serious trouble as the importance of geography erodes. mg
