LU, a spinoff from T specialized in voice technologies, equipments for
telephone companies around the world. Low margin but helluva revenue.
CSCO specialize in data technology, what large co use in their network
room. Competitors are the likes of BAY and Cabletron at 3COM to
a lesser degree. High margin business.

Much anticipated clash between LU & CSCO is due to convergence
of voice and data: phone over the net, or data traffic through the
telephone system.
