elmer,

Re: Celery pricing

I agree that this is terrible news for AMD.
The K6-3 is late and although it benchmarke faster than Katmai - that's terrible for AMD too as they will never be able to yield them.
And AMD will not be able to transition to 0.18 in 99 unlike Intel.

So, it must be time to short AMD.
Kindly let us know when you do.

Regards,

Kash

Elmer - Re: " Does anyone know when Intel's new Israeli fab comes on line? "

Fab 18 - in Kiryat Gat, Israel - should be pretty far along in bringing up the new 0.18 micron process - NEW fab and New PROCESS - just like Fab 10, and Fab 11 and Fab 12.

I would suspect that products from this fab will be undergoing qualification and reliability testing right about now - or in early January.

Intel is very diligent about COMPLETING RELIABILITY and qualification testing of new fabs and processes before production can begin at those new fabs.

The life test quals usually take a minimum of 1000 hours - six weeks - at 125 C or 150 C.
