Well BOB, the problem is, when you have a group of people that maintain websites etc that do things like blaming "Clintons Henchmen" for every natural disaster, every murder that happens at a DC Starbucks, etc. then it somewhat nullifies the public reaction to equally violent threats/claims in the other direction. The same thing would happen, I believe, if some pro-choice activist went on record as saying that the pro-life activists should be "stoned" (first of all the use of the term stoned implies a less than serious assault). The pro life people have defined themselves by violence and intimidation tactics as far as many were concerned.
