Great article on GIC & SPYG -

phillynews.com

>>Another alliance is with software maker Spyglass Inc., in which General Instrument holds a 5 percent stake. The two companies will work on new cable software applications in a joint development company.

Patti Reali, cable technology analyst for technology research and consulting firm Dataquest, says General Instrument "is looking out for its long-term health" by forming these alliances and preparing for the day when the set-top box will disappear into the television set.<<

Just heard from 3Com's report that their PalmPilot is doing exceptionally well. This should bode well for SPYG since COMS uses their technology. Motorola will be unveiling their 'Black-bird' set-top box at the CE show next month. They will showcase for the first time SPYG's full-featured interactive Device Mosaic browser.

Watch Lists Result: ISSX,DBCC,FORMF,MLG,PLCM,PSFT,COGNF(2 days on list) (besides our MALL,DRIV,VRSN,CMGI active picks that were on list for weeks already)and a host of newsletter stocks that are moving nicely. I've decided to lower the amount of picks from 13 to 10.. It shows better focus, gives YOU more confidence, more analysis, etc,. and most of all you will now be more motivated to use 2 watch lists a day.. There will be at least 3 'chart highlights' among the picks as well as news, fundamental data etc. Eventually I might want to get to even 8 picks.

ISSX was up nearly 8 points today and closed at the day high, on yesterdays list as well as DBCC.. Also (unless they are internet stocks) most of the picks will be low-priced stocks from 10 to 20 dollars a share on average. Internet stocks not so because we are looking at percentage gain and I think you will agree that a stock that is 60 a share goes up 20 points is very good although it is 'relatively' expensive.
