What is your point? Nobody stated that to join the S&P you must gain 100% or more. I simply stated that SCH gained about 200% since joining the S&P 500 less than a year ago although they can be viewed as an internet stock now as over 30% of their revenue comes from on line trades.

Sounds to me like you are short AOL and will need to cover your %&@ tomorrow!

If adding to S&P means so much, S&P index fund must give returns of 100% every year which it doesn't.

Have you ever researched the returns of S&P index funds compared to
other Mutual Funds. If you do you will see they historically out perform 80& to 90% of them.
