Lutz, this was a whole dialog that started on the psft thread regarding the past and management. I was talking about Oracle apps management and how it once wasnt that good, although it is now improving.

Jon felt some inaccuracies were made with regard to the Sap architecture and brought it over here where we resumed the discussion. Its just a matter of personal taste at this point with regards to whose architecture you prefer. Nobody buys software based on architecture anymore - its all functionality I think. Well others here can speak to that but that is my impression.

In the late 80s for example Oracle killed Ingres on architectural issues alone and the fact that Ingres wasnt adhering to the SQL std (they actually had something that some felt was better than SQL).
