Number Two

December 29,1998

The kids have been at home for several days on school holidays, playing with their toys and driving home-based daytraders crazy. Wishing to leave the house, but unwilling to maintain long positions in internut stocks, they sell their longs. Thus begins the crash. This is also the first trading day settling in 1999.

Other reasons may be give as the cause of the December 29 crash, but this will be the real catalyst.

I also wonder who supplies the booty.

A: Auric Enterprises, AG is suppling the dough (moi):"who is ponying up the 5 G's for this contest??" I will pay or be banished forever. That's why I want an eloquently written answer. If the person who writes the correct answer is convincing, the $5 k will be well worth it.

It is not that I am short any of these names (although I do have a boxed position on one of them. Any guesses, impristine?), but rather when the big 5 in the Tulip index go, all the questionable ones will get absolutely crushed. If the writer is convincing enough, some will sell and avoid a big piece of the drop. I will personally be backing up the truck and selling the living crap out of 5th tier names like: TCTV (more), IBUY (again), MLRE, et al. Besides, it will be fun and perhaps we will find the next Elaine Garzarelli.
