Mark,

I thought I gave you the answer before, but I guess you did not understand. It's my fault! I was being indirect. I'll be more direct now!

If the KKK guy truly believed in Christ, he goes to heaven, no matter what his sin.

If Ghandi did not truly believe in Jesus, he did not go to heaven, no matter what his accomplishments.

Now I think that is straightforward enough.

Now realize, the likelihood of an active KKK member being saved would be very low, if it could exist at all.

So you are saying, how do I know? Well I'll tell you! If you are baptized by the Holy Spirit, which all true believers are when they come to faith, the Holy Spirit conviction against your KKK affiliation would surface and grow. This would happen because what the KKK does is wrong. It's against God's law. If it is against God, the Holy Spirit will tell you about it.

Now, one could ignore Holy Spirit conviction! All true believers do at one point or another. However, once you are repeatedly reminded by the Holy Spirit you are sinning, most Christians get the message. It may take awhile, but they'll get the message. And if they continue to ignore the Holy Spirit, their life is not going to be as good as God wants it to be, and as fruitful as it could be. And as rewarding as it could be. And that's a shame! And it will stop the person of enjoying God's full blessings in this life. The Holy Spirit dwelling inside you is truly a gift of God once you believe in Christ.

On the other side of the fence, why people reject the Lord is truly beyond me. The message is clear and it's there for the taking. So why Ghandi, or anyone for that matter rejects it is a mystery to me. But we all have the free will to choose.....

Steve

Mark, Mark, Mark , Mark, Mark.......

You avoided the essence of the question, which is would the KKK guy go to heaven and what happens to Ghandi? We can assume that Ghandi never accepted Jesus, and the KKK guy believed in him deeply, but always believed in Aryan principals and never repented them.

Mark, I stole this saying.." Faithfulness to Christ's words does not negate faith but rather expresses faith."

Here are some of Christ's words about your question.

Luke 6:
44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.
45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
46 "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

LISTEN to what I say. FAITH IS ACTIVE. and do you understand what the scriptures say when it says you do NOT pick figs from thornbushes? If you understand that Mark, then read this:

Luke 13:
6 Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any.
7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?'
8 "'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it.
9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'"

And Mark? What is a cut down fig tree good for? Read on:

Matt. 7:
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

KINDLING.

I do not believe that just because I say, "I believe in Jesus" that I am heaven bound no matter what. James says this:

19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder.

Will there be demons in heaven? I doubt it!

Too many times in scripture Jesus speaks of bearing fruit. Well if I am a Christian saved by grace, figs need to be falling off my branches, and not just a bunch of pretty leaves.

BUT. Scripture is clear.

John 1: 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

And only the Father Son and Holy Spirit knows my heart. Not you, not Emile, not Nancy. And visa-versa.

It is not up to me to chop down your tree.((EDIT.. I can water, and fertilize around your tree though!! )) It is up to me to make sure MY tree stays healthy and bearing fruit.

God Bless
