Greetings of the Season folks! FYI, here's a link to a story in the Calgary Herald about Canadian diamonds (NWT) mined and faceted and sold all right here in Canada:

calgaryherald.com

Excerpts:
"They're priceless," he said of the 1.0-carat and three-quarter-carat diamonds now on display at the company's downtown Calgary store...

The two diamonds have an actual market value of between $10,000 and $15,000 and were cut at Sirrus Diamond Ltd.'s cutting centre near Victoria, making them among the very first diamonds to be mined, cut and polished in Canada...

The Ekati mine -- jointly owned by DiaMet Minerals Ltd. of Kelowna, B.C., and BHP Diamonds Inc., a subsidiary of Broken Hill Proprietary Company Ltd. of Australia -- is expected to produce $500 million worth of diamonds annually, for the next 25 years.
