Rule out Alcatel, since the shareholders are still in an uproar over the recent bad quarter and would not countenance the extravagance of such a purchase; GE has said publicly that Globalstar is not a strategic investment for them, so a purchase of Loral shares would not seem likely. Don't know about ASTRA, but AT&T...well, there's an intriguing thought. After all, the sale of Skynet to Loral - could it have been a way to "incubate" that business while Michael Armstrong reorganized AT&T into a 21st Century telecom entity, later to be repurchased via the assimilation of Loral? Rampant speculation on my part...probably best to ignore, but a fun exercise nonetheless. Great thoughts, Valueman...

Merry Christmas...
