>>Fries sees bargains in companies that will benefit from business-to-business e-commerce. Though the consumer segment gets more attention, business-to-business dealings will generate the lion's share of a projected $400 billion in e-commerce revenues by 2002, according to International Data Corporation. <<

* Business-to-business ecommerce is doubling every three months, according to Price Waterhouse. (anchordesk)

* Last year, approximately $7 billion was done through business-to-business e-commerce. By 2002, Forrester Research predicts it will hit $327 billion.

IDC, Jupiter, Forrester, all have interesting numbers on B2B (business to business)

BII has spent over 30 million and 5 years planning for this. The reason that they can be profitable in Q3 with less than 50 million in revenue is that they already spent the money getting set up for one online auction. Next thing you know they open up the Canadian site with Rogers Media in a 6 million dollar deal.

Try to imagine BII doing deals with half a dozen countries next year. It's all gravy from now on. ...say an initial fee of several million per country, and an annual percentage. It starts to look very attractive.

>>Bid.Com is strategically positioned to leverage its technological leadership by offering the pre-eminent online auction platform for license to business-to-business markets and for distribution through broadband/cable media.<<
