"This will be of great value to people who wish to be in touch with areas where no other means of communication are available." Michael Smith, Chief Operating Officer for Telstra Global Satellite, said that the launch of Internet access on Telstra Satcom services reflected Telstra's commitment to provide its global customers with complete communication solutions. "The ability to get on-line in the middle of nowhere to check weather forecasts, order supplies, access news services or download a newspaper is something else altogether," said Smith.
