Mang,

It's harder than you expect for CPQ, INTC, HP, etc.,etc.,
to get into networking.

Just for example, CPQ is looking to buy CS to get networking
division going. Does this not tell you enough?

Don't underrate what COMS has. One of them being the ability
to consantly move the pricing leverage with much more ease
than it's competition. It will eat CPQ's lunch all day long.

There is also the quality issue. Look how much break downs
there are in networking. I've got my own stories. Remember
Steve's with CSCO's?

Quality will be a bigger and bigger issue in '99. You just
can't slap together any old network products, even when
they seem to be commodity items.

Eric B. undertalks the interoperability, and it's hard not
to come across as an engineer, but this is one of COMS
great advantages. Just talk to *ANY* distributor or *VAR*
and you will see who makes the best products.
