UBID cannot be shorted because the float is too small and most people have it in their cash account so the shares cannot be borrowed. If you think UBID can hold at this price or go up, it makes more sense to buy MALL instead of UBID.

Why? Because MALL owns 80% of UBID and said they will spin off the UBID shares to owners of MALL next year at the rate of .71 shares of UBID for every share of MALL. At today's close of $188 that puts the value of MALL at $192 per share ($59 plus $133). This is over a 200% gain on MALL. I don't see UBID going up 200% from here but all it has to do is stay at $188 and MALL goes up by more than 200%.

I also like BYND (Beyond.com). They sell software over the net and the company is run by the former VP of marketing for Amazon. A pretty good pedigree.

One more thing. Why do we need two different threads on UBID? Would recommend everyone use the other thread. Just makes it easier to read all the posts, IMO.

FDX and ABF (Airborne Freight)UPS does not trade...

These stocks have made a move on that thesis..however if you believe all the predictions about internet commerce (I don't) then these companies and any others will be swamped beyond belief. I would like to hear from Fedex as to how business has picked up lately from internet sales and purchases. There is nothing new about all this, the Sears Catalog was around a hundred years ago same idea different medium. Others are all the mailorder/telephone order business's and clubs out there.UBID;EBAY;AMZN;ONSL;and the others are grossly overpriced right now..too late to buy too early to sell. Caveat emptor.
