Chicago Title and Cendant Form New Business Relationship

<<CHICAGO, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago Title Corporation (NYSE: CTZ - news) today announced a new strategic partnership with Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD - news), the world's premier provider of consumer and business services. As a Preferred Alliance, Chicago Title will facilitate title insurance transactions for Cendant's COLDWELL BANKER®, CENTURY 21®, and ERA® franchisees and their clients. >>

Here is the interesting part:

<< Approximately 25 percent of the residential real estate business is handled by a franchised real estate office of one of the three Cendant owned real estate brands...>>

I don't know what market share the number two player has...but my guess is a LOT lower than 25%. Anybody with real estate industry experience have some numbers or insight?

I like the idea that CD can use its buying power to continue a roll-up of the highly fragmented residential real estate industry through its existing franchises.

Thanks for that encouraging report. Your figure of $1.10 for '99 earnings is a slight improvement over the $1.07 that had been projected previously.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!
