T'Was The Night Before Impeachment

It was the night before Impeachment
When at the White House,
Bill Clinton was thinking,
Time to bomb Iraq's louse;

The missles were all counted
And dispatched with glee,
In hopes that Saddam
Would be history.

The Clintons were nestled
All snug in their beds,
While visions of Impeachment
Danced in their heads;

And Saddam in his robe
And I in my cap,
Had just settled down
For a long winter's nap.

When out on the lawn
There arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed
To see what was the matter.

Away to the window
I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters,
And threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast
Of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the luster of midday
To tv cameras below,

When what to my wondering
Eyes would be seen,
CNN
Live on the scene.

"Yes I ordered the bombs,
To fall on Saddam's head,
I want that the tyrant
Would end up very dead.".

More rapid than eagles
Newscasters they came,
Aasking the question,
Is Impeachment to blame?

"Now, Henry! Now, Newt!,
Now William and John!
How can you vote,
While an air war is on?!

At the White House!
Just west of the Hill!
Bill is on tv!
Announcing with skill

"As dry leaves that before
The wild hurricane fly,
I've ordered air strikes,
On that Saddam Hussein guy."

So down at the Capitol
The Congressmen huddled,
Clinton started a war,
And Impeachment was muddled.

And then in a twinkling,
It was obvious that,
Mr. Bill Clinton
Had more lives than a cat.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

And remember -- if he stays in office, he's won! :-)
