Why oh why do people keep saying these things are going to drop in the new year?

No way says I. Retail investors (ie the people propping these things up) are going to come out of the holidays rich and happy and wanting to drop more money into the stock market. Not to mention a YHOO split, perhaps an INKT split, AMZN split occurring. Lots of juicy news for retail guys (yes, I am one of them too) to sink their teeth into.

Maybe I would buy some DEEP out of the money puts to hedge, but no way would I go short. If everyone is expecting this drop, shouldn't it be occurring NOW as people anticipate it? Remember, the market makes a fool out of the greatest number of people..

I'm long currently, but it's a trading long.. in and out every couple of days. I'm ready to go short at any time, but I doubt it'll happen soon.

James.

Oh yeah, we also know AMZN is going to blow away revenue for Q4 as well. There must be a boatload of people buying email gift certificates for Christmas gifts, can they book that as revenue? And since they don't get redeemed until after Jan (probably), they don't cause AMZN to lose money on sales! Wow!

James.

PS. I miss San Diego, it's frickin' cold here in Toronto.
