Welcome Benny: Sector has said many nice things about you and had hoped you'd move over.

Re: Insider Buying

There's been a lot of discussion here also. It would be a big morale booster if management did buy back at these levels.

There is one internal impediment. Like many companies, MRVC limits the period of time within which insiders can buy and sell shares. It's self-imposed and more restrictive than many: within two weeks after each quarterly earnings announcement.

I'm sure you're right when you say that management was pushed into buying in May l998 by the underwriters. Since management owns about 20% of the outstanding shares (with their wives etc.), any purchase or sale is almost meaningless to them in terms of their wealth or company control.

One factor which Sector Investor has emphasized in the past is that Noam and the others (Slammo?) only draw down a salary of $100,000 a year. This doesn't go far in Southern California. A primary motivation for the original sale in October l997 may have been a simple need to get by financially. And unless Noam saved the bulk of this money - and given his salary - there may not be much left over to buy shares the only purpose of which is boosting the morale of us poor suffering shareholders.

Seasons greetings to you and yours,

Bruce
