Hi Dale; that move didn't help the kind of traders we have on SI, I don't know any one who got in AOL before the run up, however a short on Z, the one that got kicked out was playable for the fast players, and it dropped more percentage wise than AOL gained. ---------------- Well I said I would never own any AOL , as I consider them the evil empire of the internet ( like MSFT is to software ), but now it looks as if I lied as being I'm in VFINX I know I now own some AOL, not as much as MSFT , but some none the less, I guess the joke is on me for knowing more than I should. The MDY is what is surprising me the most, it's running up fast, and most of that is because of the smaller cap internut speculation, their combined run up is sending the MDY ( my favorite short up ) and up at a good clip too.. Dale; I just picked up on the news , the AOL swap takes place on DEC31, 33m shares will have to be bought by index funds. 14m of these are subject to come from employees exercising their options, to sell the stock. Most of the index funds will wait until Dec 31, or may just do an arb in the futures pit's to leg into her. ----------------------- The kick last night by the speculators has now backed off some, but she is still in the MID400, ( no wonder the MDY spiked today however, let's keep in mind she also leaves the MDY on DEC31, and that could reduce the internet MDY proxy effect. Likely it will, now I wonder who they will bring into the MDY ? Jim
