Jeff,

Thanks for the info. I'm not worried about my pc or laptop but I discovered this issue when working on an old 386 of mine. The date, etc., was in the autoexec.bat file and I was wondering how this could possibly affect users in this situation. While many of us may be more technically adept, I question how many people will "take apart" their pc's to have it auto-reset. A boot disc makes it much more simple. Also, I am aware of the boot-discs that come with most pc's but I'm betting a decent percentage of owners have lost it or don't have one if they have a used pc. Basically, it's just another option PINC could provide as I feel (my opinion) most users want to turn their pc on and have it work without have to edit autoexec.bat files, etc. (scary stuff to some people). Anyhow, this was just my contribution to the thread to get back to constructive conversation as opposed to all the recent negativity, etc.
