I am following your dialog, although it pushes the envelope of my technical grasp. Please keep it up - my envelope needs pushed!

"PS. Is anyone else is following this, or should we "can it" here?"

Hi Steve,

I enjoy following conversations such as this and like Frank participates in on the Last Mile thread, even though about 90% of it goes over my head.

I guess I figure if I read enough, a little of it is bound to sink in.

And if even just a little of what you, Bernard, Frank, EP80, etc say sinks into my head, I'll be lucky.

I'd vote you guys feel free to continue to post anything you want.

Steve

<..From all sources that I have, this is incorrect...> Correction:
To confirm my understanding of OSS networking, I spoke with both an analyst following OSSes and an engineer at OSS leader ADAX. They both confirmed no networking of OSSes.

Faultily, only AFTER posting my message (not enough sleep :< )did I research your detailed description of EB, finding the America's Network article describing this:

americasnetwork.com

Sounds like it is a future technology still finding it's place with telcos, and would be used for provisioning copper/trunking for CLECs and CAPs. (How much interface with this and SS7 do you see?) The technology clearly exists and seems a focus of major telcos - thanks for the excellent points and for helping understand these issues, and my apologies for not researching this more thoroughly before posting.

Regards-

Steve
