And for those of you that haven't used wood and plan on using it for y2k backup one thing you should do is make sure that your wood is "seasoned" by this I mean that you don't go out next fall and cut down a bunch of wood (or buy) then burn it that winter. Wood needs to be cut to dry for a year unless the trees are dead when they are cut.

This may not be true for all types of wood but what we burn most of in the northwest is Pine or fir. It's not that you can't burn unseasoned wood it just creates much buildup.
