MM, it's secret that I only give out to members of da Austrian tough love Society. -g- I don't want to give the impression that I have a crystal ball but here is some of what influences my tinking: for now fundamentals don't matter any bad news can be ignored, spin into a positive or called a bottom. The public will continue to buy and hold until they are hurt very badly no one can convince them otherwise. It will take a severe dose of bears tough love to change investor psychology. AG will cut rates again after next decline in a desparate attempt to reflate the bubble -this will work until the dollar is hurt. The money center banks will continue to gamble with derivatives because they believe da FED can save them. heads da bankers win tails the taxpayer loses- what a system -I gotta get me a job like dat. -g- On the fundamental front fer 99 i expect a continued deterioration on a global scale for earnings, debt, layoffs and virtually every measure of economic activity. Many believe that the Fed can avoid recessions i do not. They can buy time but the end result is simply a bigger disaster. I'm sorry I cannot be more specific with target levels i have no idea but time wise my gut says we top in January. I am looking for a loss of momentum and tough love fer da buck. i really cannot say when dis happens but that is what we be looking fer. ho ho ho Mike
