I wasn't expected anything too complicated but some of the reading I've done talked about different splits (or rounds) of wood used for different fire purposes (hot, slow burn, ...). Seems it depends on the surface area of the wood; basically, more surface cut, as in a quarter split, has different burn/heat characteristics than, say, a half split; whereas a short round ... . Hmmm...almost does sound like rocket science! ; ) Thanks for your response. ...Tim
