Certainly you are correct there are tragedies in affluent and conservative families. However, I would guess they are probably only around 2 to 3% of the total teen crime. They are generally well publicized because of the rarity of such events and because of the affluence of the parents. Most of the crime comes from those who live in single parent, drug involved or other negative environments that contribute little to hope. Generally, they are not in a productive environment nor one that enhances self esteem. Our States Attorney said these young people must be reached before they are 7 or 8. After that it is probably to late to recover them. Also, he said the most dangerous person in America is a 17-18 year old. They have no conscience and, even if you cooperate, they have no reluctance to kill you. He said the older criminal usually will not hurt you if you cooperate and give them what they want. I believe our liberal element has contributed to this sad state.
