>> to be boxing and shipping books?<<
I love boxing. I'm not interested in books. Please understand the bears have been killed on going forward pessimism.
I don't think you'll find an investor here that cares about the 'Things' long term potential. It's more like how much money can I suck out of this 'Thing'!.

ps
I've become one of those also.
Trust me on that.

So how positive can it be for the CEO to be boxing and shipping books?

This is a very big positive for Amazon. Since they put all their fulfillment costs into their marketing category, this means that all their exec's salaries are marketing costs for this quarter! And since the investors that do look at the P & L statement just subtract out the marketing costs as being not critical to Amazon's ability to make a profit, it means that their potential profit will be that much bigger this quarter! Time to back up the truck for Amazon stock - mortgage the house and max out the credit cards. Their potential profits are going to go through the roof this quarter!!!
