Funny you should post that to me. MVIS (then MediaVision's ticker) -- they made sound cards, and I still have the PAS-16 w/ SCSI port and 2x Toshiba SCSI CDROM I bought for my first PC, a 486-DX50 -- the PAS-16 and 2x SCSI CDROM drive cost a total of ~$750!

Anyway, MVIS was the first stock I bought. With my brother's help -- I sent him $250 for my part, and he bought ~$1500 worth. Ouch. We watched it go all the way to zero. A cheaper lesson for me than for him, but a lesson nonetheless. The lesson essentially was, know the company behind the product, diversify, and don't buy based only on a gut feeling or a pretty chart. I know some people who have yet to learn the part about the chart, though everyone makes a mistake now and then.
