Frank, we have no fight here - none of us. We ALL want to reform welfare. It was NOT begun as is for any evil purpose. It was an experiment that sounded worth trying - give everyone the basic needs, etc. As it's set up, it didn't work. The Great Society was a bold hope, but it simply didn't work. But the fix is not easy. I don't know of ANYONE who has come up with a truly good solution. Contributions through churches is wonderful interim help, but it will never solve the problem.

And why did your church send help to Honduras but not to Nicaragua, which suffered the same terrible damages?
