MER - Still interested?

I am playing JAN 75 calls at 2. because:
MER at 70, down from recent 80, 52 week high of 109.
Today, CNBC mentioned LTCM managers may actually make money, 15% of gains since bailout! The Saudi Prince, Buffet etc.
MER upgraded C 2 weeks ago, one of their partners in the bailout, indicating the threat has gone away. Large reserves were set aside, which may have to be added back in.
MER has been held back for the last few weeks, due to rumors that it may take over Schwab, whose shares have roared, possibly out of MER price range.
MER's propriety trading must be doing well. Will this market last til Jan 1?
MER thread is dead.

Just wondered what you were hearing, & thoughts on timing?
Merry Christmas
