At about 6:45am today CNBC will have on the Business Editor for SmartMoney to talk about their '99Picks ... knowing CPQ is among them it should be interesting.

As well, it is usually about that time that the dope Herb Greenberg is on ... hopefully he won't dampen the CPQ spirit.

CNBC and SmartMoney comments on CPQ:

A turnaround situation, inv. problem straightened out, buying will occur in 1999 because of Y2K and Euro$.

Likes hardware sector especially CPQ ! CPQ has a good financial model now that they have bought DEC.

H: Well with such low-ball targets they can always say they achieved them. I sometimes wonder who are their clients. Who would buy on a recommendation that a growth stock will increase 5-10% in a year. Wouldn't they better off with a utility stock?
