John,

Of the 1200 employees EMC wants to hire, it would be interesting to know exactly what kind of employees they are looking for. Upper management? Techie types? etc.

For entry level positions, I should expect it would be easier to get top-notch people if they actively recruit at the local universities and colleges. Besides the obvious Harvard, MIT, and possibly Tufts [I know nothing about Tufts programs] Brown is just down the road, _less_ than an hour train ride from Providence. Indeed, a number of people who work in metro Boston area commute from RI or NH--but the article also noted how employee hungry NH is.

Happy Holidays, John! I'm bracing myself to drive down 95 in a few hours to spend Christmas with relatives.
