Hi Sam
Just recieved my christmas letter from the tsig's, enclosing a copy in case you haven't gotten yours yet.
From the Tsig family to yours
It certainly has been a busy year here at the tsig household. This spring I had a baby! We named him Charley Carnegie Incorporate. We named him Charley after Charley Chaplin, for as Charley Chaplin was a star in a new age we hope that our Charley takes his lead and becomes a star in his own right, carnegie, after Andrew Carnegie and hope that our Charley draws from andrew cargnegie's wisdom of capitalizing on a new age and remembers how Andrew made all his money by selling all that steel to the railroads and making commerce easier to conduct. We call our son charley, his friends call him cci, and charley likes to sign his name cci/tsig.
The first thing that Mr. Robert G Tsig did when charley was born was to clean out the nursery. There was a bunch of old telephone equipment in there and Mr. tsig was complaining about how it didn't work right and wouldn't keep up with our fast changing times. He had no sooner got rid of it when a truck pulled up and delivered all brand new telephones!! I couldn't believe how much it cost and shuddered to think of how we would pay for it. Charley took to playing with his new phone right away! You should have seen his face when he got his first phone call!
Because both Mr. tsig and myself work we had to put charley in a day care center right away. As all nervous mothers are you can be sure that I checked out the one we chose carefully. I thought I chose a good one. Uncle Daryl owned the center that I chose. The cdnw's and the ntki's both put their kid in this one, the only thing I didn't like was that nasty old KTEL kid was there too. I was hoping that charley would take a liking to his new friends. I was so disappointed though when charley told me he really didn't like playing with these kids and found other kids to play with. When I asked him why, he told me that the ktel, cdnw, ntki kids were to easy to beat when they were playing their games. Charley told me that while these kids like to go around yelling at the top of their lungs “look at me” they also handed out huge sums of money to get people to look at them. Charley told me that he would just rather be the adorable, likeable guy that he is and help people out whenever he could. Charley found out that by being this way, people would actually give him money rather than him paying it out! One day when I picked charley up, I noticed that he had more friends than anybody else, I was so proud! I also noticed that he picked up a new nickname, it was “Five Buck Charley”, I wondered what that was all about.
When my baby graduated from day care, he told me he was going to open a web site. I was so afraid that my baby was going to get hurt as he set his sights so high, where would the money come from? Well charley really went to work, made new friends with Mr. Recovery network and Mr. Homemed. They were coming over all the time to play with charley's phone. You know kids, on the phone all the time. I was so hoping he would get outside, take up a hobby. That's when uncle Dick came over.
Uncle Dick was so impressed with Charley's website that he introduced him to all his friends, they are all such nice people, Herb albert, Johnny Cash, Reba Mcentire, Smokey Robinson, just to name a few!! Uncle Dick told me that he was going to introduce Charley to has many people has possible. One night they threw a party for charley and before the night was over they were all smiling at him and calling hin “Five Buck Charley”!!
Just has I was starting to worry about where the money was going to come from to buy all the musical instruments I thought charley would want me to buy, Uncle Grady called. He said not to worry for he would loan five buck charley 10 million dollars!! I almost fainted, what a huge sum of money, my mind was racing, how could my baby pay back that much money, what were the interest rates. I remembered my youth and how I got in so much trouble with my credit cards. But Charley told me not to worry, he only needed 2.5m out of the ten mil and he had plans to pay that off five bucks at a time. He said he wasn't going to worry about it and was going to go ice skating with uncle Phil.
I was so glad to hear that, afterall all work and no play makes for such a boring day. Uncle Phil likes to play hockey, he told me that he was going to teach charley how to ice skate so well that before he was done with him charley would have to make up his mind whether he wants to be a figure skating rock star, playing the guitar while doing fancy twirls or a professional sports figure. Either way he's sure that before long everybody in the stands will be cheering “Five Buck Charley”
Charley made some deal with the amplified kid, I not sure what that is all about, something about a new way to get music. I tell you all this hi tech stuff is just to much for me. Charley said it was the way of the future and to remember it was me who gave him the Cargenie name. I was so worried Charley would get in over his head that I called uncle Frank to come have a talk with him.
Uncle Frank came over one evening and took charley into the den for a long time. When charley came out he had this glazed look in his eyes and had a big book in his hands. When he dropped it and I picked it up it opened to a page, I didn't have a chance to read it but I saw some names like yahoo, microsoft, netscape, citibank, wells fargo. These are pretty big companies aren't they? I asked Charley what this book was all about, but he just stared at me and ran off to his room, you know how teenagers can be. The next day at breakfast charley told me he was going to college!! I was so proud, you know how valuable a college education can be. I asked him if he had chosen a college yet, I so wanted him to go to Harvard or maybe Stanford. Charley told me he was going to the University of Cohesive, told me they were the best in the field he was going into and they even taught Harvard and Stanford a thing or two!
I didn't want to appear like a brooding mother by calling charley everyday, but he didn't call me as much as I wanted so I decided I would call him to ask him what he wanted for christmas. When I called uncle Steve answered, that scoundrel! I'm not sure I like him, he was the one that taught my baby how to play poker! I thought I would be nice to him anyway, you know holidays, but when I asked him where charley was and he told me he was unavailable because he was playing poker, I lost my temper. You know what poker leads to! Yep, why next thing you know it will be drinking, wild women and late nights! That steve told me to chill, that's what college kids do he said. As a matter of fact they were drinking now, vo and seven's! Had lots of loose women there and charley was playing poker with Mr. Heavy Hugh, Mr Softee and Mr tktm. said not to worry these guys were all mad at the ktel kid, something about holding his markers and how charley would surely woo these guys instead of stiffing them like that lying ktel kid did. I'm not so sure I like that Mr. Heavy Hugh, I think he's the one that brought the women.
Thank god, Charley called me the next day, he tried to hide his hangover, but you can't fool mom. He told me that uncle Sam had taught him how to play baseball! Charley picked up the game right away and had become a star! He had so many friends! Someone told me he had 900,000 other kids in his fan club! Charley was playing all over the usa and everywhere he went people were cheering “here comes five buck charley!”
After baseball season was over Charley called me! He sounded real upbeat and told me he was about to graduate, at the top of his class with honors! Then he laid the bomb on me, told me he wasn't coming home right away. My heart was pounding has I asked him his plans. He told me he was going to travel. Where will you go I asked, Canada? Latin America? Europe? the Far East? he said yes to all of those places, was going to travel to the four corners of the world. How about your business I asked, who will run that? He told me not to worry, Mr. tsig would take care of it and he had plenty of help with uncle Rich, uncle Tim, uncle Jim and aunt Amy. When I asked how long he would be gone, he said not to worry, would probably be home by summer, after everybody in the world knows of five buck Charley, including the eskimo's in the artic circle and the penguins in the antartic.
I feel so sad knowing that my baby is no longer a baby, so sad having an empty home. Yet I also feel so proud for my Charley has lived up to his namesake. Charley Chaplin who was loved by all and Andrew Carnegie who made his fortune in his new paradigm.
OH! By the way, I almost forgot. Did I tell you that I might be pregnant? We aren't sure yet, but Mr. Tsig made an appointment with the local obstetrician! I just know that 1999 is going to be a fun year with lots of surprises!
Happy Holidays
