OSI.

I'm in the broadcast business, so I did a little backdoor research on OSI. It does indeed make a lot of sense for CBS. CBS owns both tv and radio stations. As it tries to package up advertising for its clients, a deal that would allow it to offer tv, radio and outdoor media would be very powerful. I couldn't get any dirt on actual talks.

I would implore someone to call OSI directly. Ask for investor relations. Ask him/her if the company is in talks with a major broadcast company. The company will either give you a "no comment" (good sign), yes (crazy but possible) or a no (rumor untrue). I would call myself, but I am on vacation now and don't have time.

If IR says it doesn't know, ask to speak to someone who does. Remember, the best way to talk to a company is to present yourself as a shareholder with a large position in street name (that means you own a bunch of shares, but they remain in your brokerage account without your name attached).

I am also hearing rumors of a possible deal with Paxson Communication (PAX). I can't believe Paxson would want to sell his company but I am taking it seriously. I'll let you know what I find out as I investigate it.
