For companies, they can just download from vendors, so it won't
make much sense to buy new hardwares when economy might slow
down in '99.

For individuals, most don't care enough to spend that much money
for new machines unless they have to buy new one for some other
reasons too, imo.

How many companies or individuals you know actually plan to buy
new pcs because of y2k? I don't know any yet.
