"My only advice is to never sell short unless you get the rebate, as the prices are calculated with you receiving a 90% rebate. "

I don't follow that at all. I thought that prices were calculated by supply and demand? If you are referring to the trades you are doing, not to worry, you still haven't convinced me you know what you're talking about. <g> When I was with Datek, I was most pleased that I could have all of my equity there sold short, and they'd still pay me 4% on my money. It always felt like I was getting over. In the end, it didn't keep me a Datek customer.

Re:FLC et al

Glad to see you Texans doing your part by burning up some of the excess oil/gas during this cold snap. Us damn yankees are getting tired of shouldering the entire load<g>.

Re: CNBC - I watch it all the time - sometimes I even have the sound turned on. I think Maria Tout-a-Rama fits in perfectly with that crew. She was at her best when Alan's second rate cut kicked in - the last time I saw an announcer emote that much was when the US won the 1980 Gold in Hockey. But I do appreciate her - most hos aren't that good lookin.

But CNBC isn't all bad - they are helping investors develop long term value-focused investment strategies by running a 3-month stock picking contest for high schoolers. Could have been 3 hours!!

Mike - you're a good man. Thanks for taking the time to lay out your investment strategy. Overall, a great thread, except for those annoying austrian twins!!<ggg>
