Hate to say it, but I wouldn't sweat CIEN too much. It's been a pretty reliable trader. It seems that a rumor starts every thursday-friday.. stock runs up a few points and then when monday comes and goes without news, stock drops again. Anytime it falls down between 12-14, I look at it as a possible buy.. waiting for the rumor to start it running again. Another way to play CIEN is to pick up its options. You can snag the calls.. and if you want to box, snag some puts too. Never buy what you can't afford to lose.

I've been looking at January FX plays. The beaten and downtrodden usually bounce in January as longs come in and pick 'em up as undervalued buys. I am a major fan of SPLN. I think it will bounce up nicely in January. I buy SPLN under 17. Short term target is 19. Longer term target is 28. Also like TDFX, RMDY, CIEN, CD. All have had the heck knocked out of 'em. Time for them to roll again.

I like Tim's OSI because the rumors make sense. XYLN also makes sense for LU so I'm holding some calls.

If you are a gambler, check out FINE (Fine Host). This company runs the concessions at major stadiums and arenas. It go the sh*t kicked out of it when it announced major accounting errors. Fell from the wall street darling position of 50 to the bulletin board limbo of 3/4. I keep up with this company and I am hearing that FINE will announce positive earnings for its 4th quarter. That should juice FINE up very very nicely. Check it out.

Time to celebrate.

Happy holidays.
