Consider these selections in building a more stable foundation for your portfolio: Compaq Computer Corp. (CPQ), Warner-Lambert Co. (WLA), First Union Corp. (FTU), Home Depot Inc. (HD), Pitney Bowes Inc. (PBI), McDonald's Corp. (MCD), Duke Energy Corp. (DUK), Nike Inc. (NKE), EMC Corp. (EMC), Hewlett-Packard Co. (HWP), Fannie Mae (FNM) and Eastman Kodak Co. (EK).
